Eng Medical Centre Closure

(Updated 23rd July, 2026)

Notice to all patients and suppliers, Dr Peter Eng has retired as of 30.6.2026 and is no longer practicing medicine. The Eng Medical Centre at 11-23 Burwood Road Hawthorn has closed.

The role of the Eng Medical Centre is now to provide the clinical records of patients should they make a request. It acts also as a legacy reception and administration and to organise the transfer of infusions which patients have already paid for to these patients. The legacy reception and administration has now been opened and is contactable through eng.medical.centre@bigpond.com or (03) 9682 3966.

Further information to all patients of Dr Eng being treated up until 30/06/2026: A number of email requests have beenreceived by Dr Eng from patients that asked where they can receive ongoing treatment that is comparable to that received at the Eng Medical Clinic. Out of concern for the ongoing care of these patients, Dr Eng has now spoken to Dr Denis Rebic, who has just returned from overseas and will now expedite patients referred by Dr Eng.

Note: when making appointment please inform the Wellmed reception that Dr Eng has been treating you up to 30 June 2026, and that the patient will bring along a one page medical history summary, which should include date of diagnosis, treatments to date, doctors seen, the last scan report and the last specialist report. Wellmed has prepared a welcoming letter which will be provided to patients.

Ongoing Integrative Medical Care

• To be legal, intravenous and integrative therapies should continue under the supervision of an experienced integrative medical practitioner or nurse practitioner experienced in integrative intravenous therapies and metabolic oncology.

• General Practitioners who are not trained in integrative medicine and integrative infusions may not be medically insurable by the medical insurer AVANT, as they may lack the knowledge, training and experience to supervise integrative intravenous therapies and metabolic oncology safely. Thus enquiries to AVANT by a GP who was considering taking over the supervision of patient infusions from DR Eng, received the following response:

Hi Peter
I have made my anonymous enquires as promised. I spoke with lead counsel for Avant with full confidentiality. After a long discussion with her, she understands that I really want to help you. We discussed several possible scenarios. I found her to be sympathetic and understanding and she asked for time to think it over.
She has now told me that under all possible scenarios, Avant will not insure me !
I could not act in “ first aid” capacity but would need to prove my knowledge of integrative medicine, ensure that all other parties were similarly qualified and I would need to assess each patient before each therapy and to report each treatment to referring gp.
Basically I would need to adopt each patient as mine and be responsible for their care and outcome.
She told me that I would be left out on a limb without insurance! Sorry Peter, therefore I must decline and I hope you can find someone else.
Regards [Dr]

For ongoing management of existing care plans, please be advised of the following:

• Dr Peter Eng's integrative cancer programme — which his patients were receiving until 30/06/2026 — has been developed over several decades and incorporates Prof. Thomas Seyfried's Press-Pulse therapeutic strategy as part of a comprehensive metabolic oncology approach.

• Where Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) forms part of an individual patient's treatment programme, Prof Seyfried’s protocol specifically utilises Medical Grade Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, delivering 100% medical-grade oxygen at therapeutic treatment pressures, typically between 2.0 and 2.5 atmospheres absolute (ATA), consistent with the published clinical literature supporting this approach. This can induce fatal oxidative stress (through a massive spike in Reactive Oxygen Species) in cancer cells, which inherently lack normal anti-oxidant defences.

• By comparison, a non-TGA approved medical hard or soft chamber such as a Macy-Pan chamber, uses a 90-95% concentrator delivered by a face mask a 2.0 ATA. This will significantly elevate plasma oxygen. However it’s claim of equivalence with Medical Grade Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has not been proven and is contentious. A range of factors can diminish the oxygen concentration it is capable of delivering (such as the pressure under which the oxygen is delivered, the efficient removal of carbon dioxide from the chamber, and the breathing system through which the oxygen is supplied), which means that it can fall well-short of the deep, systemic saturation achieved by 100% ambient oxygen at 2.5 ATA.

• In Summary, Medical Grade Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy received by patients of the Eng Medical Centre up until 30 June 2026 was treatment delivering all of the following protocols:
o 100% medical-grade oxygen supplied from an approved medical oxygen source.
o Therapeutic treatment pressures of 2.0–2.4 ATA consistent with the published oncology literature.
o Hyperbaric systems operated in accordance with applicable Australian regulatory requirements and recognised engineering and safety standards.
o Clinical facilities staffed by appropriately trained medical and hyperbaric personnel experienced in the delivery of oncology Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

• This level of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy should be distinguished from lower-pressure wellness or recreational oxygen systems that are not designed to deliver Dr Eng's clinical oncology protocol. It is suggested that patients confirm in writing that any Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy which they are considering for treatment conforms with the above requirements.

• It is also suggested that patients request evidence that any device administering Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to them, is registered with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Medical devices not registered with the TGA cannot be legally supplied in Australia unless they have an exemption. It is noteworthy that the Macy-Pan Chamber is not registered.
